On the night of today at 1:00 a.m. chaos broke out in Neustadt an der Orla! Police officers wanted to check a suspicious vehicle, but the driver had completely different plans. Instead of submitting to the investigators, he stepped on the accelerator and rammed the patrol car several times, leaving a trail of destruction behind him. It's a wonder no one was hurt as he even clipped the wall of a house before the vehicle came to rest in the ditch!

But that wasn't enough: the situation escalated further when the two occupants escaped from the car and took to their feet! The police didn't let up and used several patrol cars and a police helicopter to pursue them. The hectic search efforts quickly paid off – a 20-year-old was quickly caught and taken into custody.

Escape and self-disclosure

The second suspect, a 24-year-old, didn't take long to finally turn himself in to the police. While the investigation continues at full speed, the big question remains: Why did the two men flee from the police? The patrol cars are now unusable and have to be towed, just like the fleeing driver's car. The police are now investigating the reasons for this risky escape attempt and the possible motives of the suspects.
