Herby Stanonik impresses at the cabaret premiere in Vienna!

On September 11th, 2025, the professional dancer and teacher Herby Stanonik celebrated his premiere as a cabaret artist with his solo program “Bildungsscheu” in the Vienna setting. This event was attended by numerous companions and prominent guests, who gave the premiere the character of a family reunion. The guests included his former Dancing Stars colleagues Anna Strigl, Monika Ballwein and Catharina Malek. The atmosphere during the event was characterized by lots of applause and enthusiasm.

Stanonik presented humorous stories based on his time as an elementary school teacher at a troubled school. He emphasized that the stories are often taken from life and often seem comical in themselves. His long-time friend Anna Strigl, who was his dance partner on “Dancing Stars” in the past, praised Stanonik as a born cabaret artist in a recorded audio sequence. She remembered how he often made her laugh during filming. Monika Ballwein and Catharina Malek also commented positively on Stanonik's debut.

The program and other performances

The audience had the opportunity to participate interactively in the evening and enjoyed the combination of dance demonstrations and humorous anecdotes. Stanonik promised that each audience member had already had experience in a school, which made the school-related nature of his stories particularly good.

The next date for the solo program “Bildungsscheu” has already been set. On November 30, 2025, Stanonik will perform again in Vienna. Due to the high demand and feedback after the premiere, it is advisable to secure your seats early.

Event information

At the same time, various events took place in Vienna and other cities. That evening, the Theater im Park invited people to a performance by Alex Kristan entitled “50 Shades of Schmäh”, while Antonia Stabinger entertained the audience in the theater café with “Agreeable Hin & Wider”. Christof Spörk and other cabaret artists also offered a wide range of entertainment that evening, which underlines the diversity of the cabaret scene in Austria.

Stanonik's appearance as a cabaret artist marks a new phase in his career and expands his work beyond dancing. The audience should look forward to more humorous stories and dance demonstrations that show him even more diversely as an artist.
