The 2025 World Ski Championships will bring exciting twists and turns! In the newly introduced team combination, the Austrian athletes Mirjam Puchner and Katharina Liensberger showed great determination in the competition, but had to settle for fifth place after a solid performance. Puchner admits that the excitement made it difficult for her to follow the slalom: "I was so excited," while Liensberger remains optimistic and sees the competition as valuable training for the upcoming special slalom the Crown reports.
The competition was characterized by the sensational performance of the American Mikaela Shiffrin. She actually didn't want to compete, but her participation led to her winning gold in the team combination together with Breezy Johnson. After Johnson finished fourth in the downhill, Shiffrin shone in the slalom and secured the eighth World Championship gold medal of her career. Johnson crowned her performance with downhill gold and now holds the title of double world champion. Austria can also celebrate: Super-G world champion Stephanie Venier and Katharinarupp won the third medal - a silver, but did not secure the podium as Puchner and Liensberger slipped back to fifth place after third place in the downhill.
