Warning: dm recalls organic products due to salmonella! Check your supplies!

dm drogerie markt GmbH has initiated a recall for two organic products. The affected items are “dmBio Cashew Butter Raspberry” and “dmBio Berries Crunchy 500g”. This was announced vol.at, with the recall being particularly due to possible contamination with harmful bacteria and an undeclared ingredient.

The first product, the “dmBio Cashewmus Raspberry”, is suspected to be contaminated with salmonella. Affected products have a best-before date (best before date) up to and including April 28, 2026. Consumption can lead to symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain and headaches, vomiting, malaise and a slight fever. Infants, small children as well as older and immunocompromised people are particularly at risk and should consult a doctor if symptoms are suspected, as ruhr24.de reports.

Appropriate approach

The second affected product, the “dmBio Berry Crunchy 500g”, is being recalled because calories and nutrients are not correctly declared, which poses an allergy risk for people with a lupine allergy. This product has a best before date of December 11, 2025, but is safe for people without a corresponding allergy.

Customers can return the affected products unopened or already opened to any dm branch and the purchase price will be fully refunded - even without presenting a receipt. This is a common procedure during recalls to ensure customer safety. Recalls of this type are published via the European rapid warning system RASFF and the lebensmittelverkauf.de portal, which is also recommended by the Ververbraucherzentrale for providing information about product warnings.

It is important to emphasize that companies are required to recall products if they do not meet food safety requirements. Some recalls, such as the current one, often require consumers to protect their health by promptly returning potentially dangerous products. If you have further concerns or questions, customers can contact the dm service center on 0800 365 8633 or by email at servicecenter@dm.de. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
