Noise nightmare in Simmering: 70-year-old fights for her peace!
The case of a 70-year-old lady, Ms. P., is causing a stir in Vienna. After almost 40 years in her apartment on Simmeringer Hauptstrasse, her life has turned into a nightmare since a large family with seven children moved in above her. The constant noise, such as loud shouting, moving furniture and slamming doors, robs her of sleep and puts additional pressure on her already poor health. Ms. P. has been living with thyroid cancer for two years and is emotionally and physically exhausted. “I'm afraid I'm completely exhausted!” she complains in an interview Today.at.
Despite repeated attempts to seek dialogue with the neighboring family, their hope for a solution seems in vain. Ms. P. reports that the neighbor's reaction only laughed at her, and she even found threats from one of the sons in the family, who might be using drugs, threatening. The case has already been forwarded to Wiener Wohnen and wohnpartner to facilitate mediation. While the pensioner seeks a peaceful solution, the disturbed peace in her home brings daily suffering.
