Thousands protest in Tbilisi: EU accession in danger!

Things are boiling in Georgia! Thousands of people took to the streets again to protest against the government's controversial decision to put EU membership talks on hold after contentious elections. It is the 12th day in a row that citizens raise their voices and fight for a return to European integration!

Protesters gathered outside parliament in the capital Tbilisi on Monday as the political crisis in the Caucasian nation continues to escalate. People's anger is palpable and calls for new elections are becoming louder and louder. The shock of Prime Minister Iraqi Kobakhidze's decision on November 28 to halt EU accession talks has sparked a wave of indignation that shows no signs of abating.

Protests and police violence

The police response to the protests was violent! In the past, protesters have been dispersed with tear gas and water cannons. Over 400 people have been arrested since the second wave of unrest began, and the international community has become increasingly concerned about violence in the country.

However, the demonstrators will not be intimidated! On Monday, they loudly blew horns and whistles while holding a banner reading "Less Russia is more freedom." This message is clear: the people of Georgia want their independence and closer ties to Europe!

Christmas tree and protest messages

While the city erected a giant Christmas tree in front of Parliament on Monday, images of people allegedly beaten by police and protest flyers posted on the tree the day before were removed. A symbol of the fight for freedom and the ongoing unrest in society!

The situation in Georgia remains tense and the protests show that people are ready to fight for their rights and their future. The international community is closely monitoring developments as citizens continue to make their voices and European perspectives heard!
