Dance yourself happy: New Discofox courses in the Kulturhaus Althofen!
New dance courses are on the program at the Kulturhaus Althofen from April. Under the direction of Bettina Knafl-Jannah, dance enthusiasts can learn to dance or improve their skills in the historic basement rooms of the house. Participation costs 15 euros per person per course, with the courses being held for a minimum of five couples. Anyone interested can register by phone at 0664/40 15 150 or by email at bettina.knafl@ktn.gde.at.
The courses are divided into different levels. The “Discofox 1” and “Discofox 1a” are available for beginners. These courses will take place on April 4th and 11th and June 6th and 13th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. The participants learn the basic step and simple figures. Advanced dancers can take advantage of the “Discofox 2” and “Discofox 2a” courses, which also take place on the same dates, but from 8:20 p.m. to 9:50 p.m. Wrapping figures, twists and combinations are covered here.
Dance enthusiasts welcome
With this initiative, the Kulturhaus Althofen offers all dance enthusiasts an opportunity to become active and meet in society. The combination of fun and exercise is intended to promote not only dancing but also social contacts.
In addition to dance education, there is another exciting project in the Performing Center. The 20th anniversary of the youth musical project will be celebrated there. Last year, the Christmas musical “XMAS GENERATIONS” was performed at the Akenzer Theater, in which 28 young up-and-coming actors took part.
The musical's plot deals with a Christmas project that includes auditions, rehearsal periods and interpersonal challenges. Mysterious nighttime meetings in the park and secrets from a found time capsule form the thematic core of this production.
Stephanie Schwartz and Alexander Tinodi were responsible for directing the final version, while Adele Thoma took over the musical direction. Diego Federico provided the choreography. The impressive photos of the event were taken by Bernhard Fritsch and Thomas Öhner, who captured the emotions and atmosphere of the musical.
A look at the future of further dance courses at the Kulturhaus Althofen shows the commitment and passion that goes into promoting regional culture. [klick-kaernten] reports that these courses are not only sporting but also culturally valuable offerings for the community.
For anyone who is interested in dance or theater, both the courses and the projects in the Performing Center are a first-class opportunity to express themselves creatively and become part of a lively cultural scene.
Further information about the dance courses can be found here here, while details about the anniversary performance and many photos of the musical are on the website Performing Centers can be found.
