Creative competition: Take a stand against racism in Magdeburg!

Magdeburg is all about tolerance! From now on, all trainees and students are called upon to submit their creative ideas in the “Yellow Hand” competition. The Construction-Agrar-Environment Industrial Union (IG BAU) is calling for active participation in order to send a clear signal against discrimination and racism. Whether it’s a short film, social media campaign or exhibition – the possibilities are diverse. A particular focus is on the mobilization of young people in Magdeburg, as Thomas Waldheim, the district chairman of IG BAU Altmark-Börde-Harz, emphasizes: “It is important to resolutely put a stop to extreme right-wing and racist machinations everywhere.”

Prices and conditions of participation

Participation in the competition is possible until January 15, 2025, and there is prize money of up to 1,000 euros for the most creative idea. There are also attractive prizes of 700 and 500 euros for second and third place. In addition, special prizes are awarded by the DGB Youth Saxony-Anhalt and the state of Saxony-Anhalt, each worth 500 euros. The award ceremony will take place in March 2025 in Magdeburg, after the projects have not previously been awarded in any other competition Democracy-Diversity-Respect.de expressly mentioned.

The “Yellow Hand” competition has been organized by the “Don’t hit on my buddy! – for equal treatment against racism” association for 18 years. The initiative offers a valuable platform for the engagement of young people and strengthens solidarity. All information about registration and conditions of participation are available on the website Meetingpoint-Magdeburg.de communicates. Set an example for a tolerant society!
