Young adults celebrate with think new: Advent calendar full of profits!
Wien, Österreich - in Vienna, the church's dialogue initiative "Think new" caused a sensation with a special advent calendar. Every Advent Sunday, Oeticket vouchers worth 150 euros are raffled off, and on Christmas Eve a voucher for 200 euros is at stake. According to kathpress.at , Hanna Prumofsky, the head of the Instagram speaker, was able to give away and enjoy people to bring together good society. Interested parties can take part in the raffle through liking and commenting on Instagram and mark a friend for the nearest event.
The initiative "Think new" made a consistently positive balance in 2024. According to katholisch.at , the initiative participated in around 30 events in summer, in which thousands of visitors were present. In particular, festival pastoral care, which worked at large music festivals such as the Danube Island Festival and the Electric Love Festival, achieved over 6,000 personal conversations and encounters. The social media presence was also remarkable: During this time, the Instagram account of "Think new" recorded around 5.6 million impressions and reached 1.2 million young adults.
A growing commitment to the youth
The initiative, which is part of the Catholic Church in Austria, aims to promote dialogue with young adults and redesign pastoral care. Pastoral theologist Gabriele Eder-Cakl emphasized that the approach was not designed "not as a one-way street", but aimed at learning from the realities of young people. Further measures are also planned for 2025, including operations in ski openings and the production of podcasts. This positive response makes it clear that "Think new" will continue with its innovative speech in the coming year.
