IT revolution in Vienna: How artificial intelligence is shaping our future!
On Monday, March 3, 2025, the event “42 Connect: Experts in Dialogue” took place at the Digital Excellence Campus 42 Vienna, where experts from the industry discussed the crucial role of IT in economic progress. Under the motto “No IT – No Business Progress” it became clear that companies that ignore digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) will suffer significant competitive disadvantages. According to experts, digitalization could increase gross domestic product by up to 1.9% annually, with AI alone able to contribute 1.6% per year to this growth by 2035, reports APA OTS.
The discussants, including Roland Sommer from Platform Industrie 4.0 and Johannes Ullmann from EVVA Security Technology GmbH, emphasized the importance of modernizing outdated IT systems. “Today it’s not just companies that compete with each other, but entire supply chains,” says Sommer. This underlines the need for a clear digitalization strategy in order to remain competitive in an increasingly digitalized world. During the event, the students were also able to exchange knowledge with the experts in a networking session, which strengthens the bridge between theory and practice. This event made it clear that companies that do not embrace IT-supported processes risk losing costs and market opportunities.
The future of artificial intelligence
On June 20, 2024, a year earlier, the AI survey “Navigating the Future” took place in Vienna City Hall, which was organized by high-ranking representatives of the Vienna Social Democratic Business Association. The speakers included Jörg Neumayer, Marko Fischer and Alexander Wrabetz, who emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence for society. Fischer explained: “AI is not only revolutionizing our working world, but also our everyday life.” The event discussed the impact of AI on different sectors and the role of the European Union in regulating these technologies.
The participation of leading experts, such as Lena Marie Glaser and Claudia Behr, offered those present valuable insights and perspectives on a complex topic. The discussion made it clear that innovative solutions can be developed through joint dialogue and cooperation. Vienna is proving to be an important player in the discussion of future-proof technologies, emphasizes Future Vienna.
