Chelsea FC: after transfers-why the fans are increasingly despair!

In a new sporting tragedy, Chelsea FC is in the spotlight after the club has spent a total of 1.8 billion euros for new players since the takeover by Todd Boehly in 2022. Despite these enormous investments, the success is on the pitch. The fans are frustrated and always hear the hurtful calls during the games: "Chelsea FC - you have no story!" These words were particularly heard at the 0: 3 against Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday evening, which the humiliation at a new level raises, as the Krone reported.

chelsea FC, founded in 1905, has football tradition over a century, but the current situation throws a shadow on the glorious past. Before taking over by Boehly, the club under the Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich was a financial giant in European football with numerous successes. But the foreign policy tensions resulted in sanctions, the Abramovich's assets and forced the club to sell themselves under a special approval. The financial difficulties that the pandemic brought with it are also not to be overlooked-from 2020 to 2021, the company's company value fell to around 1.88 billion euros, as Statista Showed.

The hard reality of the financial situation

The income from Chelsea FC, however, shows a steady increase, especially through broadcasting contracts, which made almost two thirds of the total turnover of 493.1 million euros in the 2021/22 season. Nevertheless, the income on match days is less than two percent of this amount, which is questionable, especially at a time when no tickets were allowed to be sold and the number of spectators was impaired due to COVID-19 restrictions. Chelsea was only able to attract an average of 36,970 spectators per game, well below the league standard of 39,650. So the club not only fights on the pitch, but also financially, and the continuing dissatisfaction of the fans could have far greater consequences if the sporting misery should continue.
