Victoria Templin: Is the team fighting to stay in the league?
The first half of the season for coach Hopp's soccer team was unfortunate for Victoria Templin. The club faces several challenges including injuries to players, particularly in the goalkeeping and midfield areas. These problems led to a negative spiral that manifested itself in individual mistakes. The young talents from their own youth showed a lot of will, but were unable to develop the necessary penetration against experienced opponents.
The club's management follows a clear philosophy: promoting its own young talent. In order to further develop the young kickers, their playing practice should be increased. In the first half of the season, the team conceded a total of 49 goals, which indicates a lack of stability in defense. Often mistakes in attack and midfield could not be compensated for by the defense. The team also has to work on their fitness so as not to collapse in the final stages of the games.
Preparations for the second half of the season
There was often a lack of assertiveness in attack, which led to the decision to often only play with one striker. Intensive preparatory training and participation in indoor tournaments are planned for the upcoming second half of the season. The training locations include Zehdenick (artificial turf pitch) and Templin as well as some indoor training.
In preparation, several test matches are scheduled: On February 1st there is a game against a Brandenburg league team in Zehdenick, followed by another test match against Oderberg/Lunow on February 8th. The team will also be training at a training camp in Oberhof from February 13th to 16th. Another friendly against TSG Neustrelitz II will also take place. There are personnel changes in the squad: Sebastian Krejcberg has joined the team and those responsible are hoping for the injured players to return.
The goal for the first game of the second half of the season on March 1st in Schwedt is clear: the team should not lose while preparing for the second half of the season. A total of 16 games are planned and the club is aiming for a place in a non-relegation zone at the end of the season.
When looking at the causes of injuries in youth football, a study showed that the injury rate per 1000 hours is higher in competition than in training. Like the research of German Journal of Sports Medicine As shown, sports injuries often cannot be attributed to a single cause but result from multiple factors, including sport-specific risk factors.
The risk of injuries in team sports is up to twice as high as in individual sports. In addition, the data shows that adolescents over the age of 13 have a higher risk of injury, which, together with physical performance characteristics, is an important aspect of sports success.
