Christmas miracle: driver slightly injured after spectacular accident!
In a dramatic incident in Waidhofen/Ybbs, a driver was in great danger when his vehicle fell down the embankment and came to a stop several meters away from the main road. “If he had fallen a few meters further, he would have ended up in the river and it would have been even more difficult to detect him,” explained Günther Weiss, the commander of the Waidhofen-Wirt volunteer fire department. Fortunately, the driver had freed himself from the car despite his spectacular fall, but the rescuers needed two kilometers from the cell phone tracking device to find him. After initial treatment, he was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Loud noen.at It was a “little Christmas miracle” that he only suffered minimal injuries.
Almost at the same time, the Waidhofen/Thaya volunteer fire department was alerted to another operation at 7:05 a.m. in which an agricultural vehicle, a JCB Fastrac, threatened to overturn on an embankment. The driver, who was traveling on the B5 from Dimling towards Horn, suddenly heard unusual noises from the engine compartment, followed by a complete engine failure. While trying to stop the vehicle, he left the road and was able to stop on the embankment - but not without danger. A farmer who rushed to help secured the Fastrac. The FF Waidhofen/Thaya quickly came to the scene to pull the vehicle back onto the road using the recovery winch of the tank fire engine.
The recovery operation was challenging as the tractor had badly damaged brake lines, necessitating the need for air pressure build-up before recovery could begin. The federal highway was completely closed throughout the measures. While the emergency services cleaned the leaked engine oil from the road, they were finally able to end the operation shortly before 10 a.m. and return to the fire station.
