A dramatic incident occurred on Monday morning, February 10, 2025, in Hargelsberg, Upper Austria. A tank trailer loaded with heating oil overturned on the L1398 between Hargelsberg and Hofkirchen in Traunkreis. According to information from Fireworld.at The fire department was alerted shortly before 9 a.m. after an oil leak was reported. At the scene of the accident it was discovered that a compartment of the trailer, which contained around 5,000 liters of heating oil, was damaged. Firefighters immediately began rescue work and collecting the escaping fluid.
In order to minimize the risk of another leak, the Steyr fire brigade's technical team was called in. The rescue work is expected to be time-consuming and will take several hours. Fortunately, there were no injuries in this incident, which certainly calmed the emergency services in the tense situation. The investigation into the cause of the accident is already underway.
