rescue operation in full swing
The fire brigade was quickly on hand and started with the medical care of the seriously injured driver. By using modern rescue technology, such as spreading maker and hydraulic rescue cylinder, the handlebar was successfully freed under the supervision of an emergency doctor. A total of four people were injured in the accident, with one person being seriously injured, while the other occupants, even though they were injured, were able to leave the vehicle independently. The injured received comprehensive medical treatment by emergency doctors from Mondsee, St. Georgen im Attergau and Bad Ischl, supported by Red Kreuz, as can be read in the reporting of ORF Burgenland
The bumpy road conditions and the late time of the accident meant that the B154 had to be closed to traffic during the rescue measures. A total of almost 60 emergency services from the police, red cross and fire brigade were on site for over two hours to supply the injured and recover the accident vehicle. After completing the rescue work, the Mattersburg fire brigade was used to rescue the vehicle, which had to be removed with a crane.
