Serious accident on B145: Two injured in collision in Lauffen

On March 25, 2025, there was a serious traffic accident on the B145 in Lauffen, Bad Ischl, in which two people were injured. The incident occurred at an intersection when two cars collided. According to the first reports from Fireworld alerted the emergency services at 3:48 p.m. The quick intervention of the Lauffen, Pfandl, Bad Goisern volunteer fire departments and the Bad Ischl main fire station was crucial in dealing with the situation.

The two occupants of the badly damaged vehicles were trapped in their cars and had to be freed with the help of the fire department. The NEF team and the Red Cross Bad Ischl paramedics immediately took over medical care and transported the injured to the Bad Ischl State Hospital. The exact extent of the injuries is still undetermined, but the circumstances of the accident require a detailed analysis of the cause of the accident, which is still unknown.

Emergency services and traffic situation

During the rescue operation, the B145 was initially completely closed. This led to significant traffic disruptions, especially during rush hour, with a loss of up to 30 minutes between Bad Ischl and Bad Goisern. Only later could the route be used again as a single lane. The traffic delays lasted until around 5 p.m., when the operation was officially ended and the traffic jams gradually cleared.

In addition to freeing the injured, the emergency services also carried out other measures, including securing the accident site, recovering the vehicles and cleaning the road. Collaboration with the Bad Ischl road maintenance department and a towing company ensured that the accident site could be reopened as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, such traffic accidents are not uncommon and underline the importance of ongoing traffic safety measures. Like a statistic of Statistics Austria shows, road traffic accidents with personal injuries are regularly recorded in Austria in order to better understand the causes and develop measures to prevent them.

Once the rescue and recovery work has been completed, the police will investigate the exact cause of the accident. We wish those affected a quick and complete recovery.
