A dramatic car trip ended in a serious accident in Gernewitz near Jena on Wednesday evening. A 20-year-old woman was driving her Skoda on the state road when she turned right onto the shoulder. When she tried to countersteer, she crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with an oncoming VW. The driver of the Skoda was seriously injured in this collision and had to be freed from the vehicle by the fire department. An ambulance took her to a nearby hospital Jena news reported.
