Horrible accident on the A13: police car crashes into truck!

On Thursday afternoon there were two serious traffic accidents in the Lübbenau area. The first incident occurred on Autobahn 13 when a police vehicle, for reasons that are still unclear, drove into the semi-trailer of a truck. Unspecified injuries were reported. The fire brigade was on site to secure the scene of the accident, while the right lane had to be closed, which led to a significant backlog, as the MAZ reported.

Just a short time later, around 1:45 p.m., another serious accident occurred on Chausseestrasse. A motorcycle and a car were involved, with the 35-year-old motorcyclist having to be taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver also suffered injuries and was taken to a clinic for treatment. The exact circumstances of the accident are still unclear; investigations are ongoing, in which specialists from DEKRA have also been called in. Both damaged vehicles were seized and the road was closed until after 6 p.m. to investigate the accident Niederlausitz Current reported.

In addition, a rear-end collision occurred on the A13 on the same day, in which a RENAULT van crashed into the trailer of a MERCEDES van. While there was material damage of around 5,000 euros, fortunately no one was injured. Reckless driving and fatigue also appear to have been an issue that day, as another truck crashed in a nearby construction site without causing any injuries. The situation around Lübbenau remains tense and motorways and city streets should continue to be driven with caution.
