Shocking collision in Wörgl: Three injured after car accident!
On February 10, 2025, there was a spectacular traffic accident in Wörgl, Tyrol, which had dramatic consequences for everyone involved. At around 3:45 p.m., a 53-year-old driver drove his car southeast on Johann Seisl Street. At the intersection with Sepp Gangl Street, he apparently overlooked a “give way” sign and collided with the vehicle of a 73-year-old who was driving with his 69-year-old wife in the passenger seat. The collision resulted in the 73-year-old's vehicle being pushed into a wall and thrown onto the hood of the other vehicle. The situation was so serious that the two drivers were trapped in their cars and had to be freed through the trunk by the Wörgl fire department.
Luckily, the 73-year-old driver and his wife were able to get out of the vehicle uninjured. However, all three people involved in the accident were treated for injuries of an undetermined degree and taken to the Kufstein district hospital. The damage to the vehicles is significant, which is not surprising given this dramatic incident and shows how quickly dangerous situations can arise in traffic. These events are all the more alarming considering that a similar accident recently occurred in the region. On October 18, 2024, a 26-year-old pedestrian was hit by an 88-year-old driver on Innsbrucker Straße (B171). Here too, the circumstances were unclear, but the pedestrian was taken to the BKH Kufstein after receiving first aid, while the driver remained uninjured meinkreis.at reported.
The investigation into both accidents is ongoing and it remains to be seen what further information will be uncovered. The incidents in Wörgl underline the importance of attention and caution in road traffic in order to avoid such dangerous situations in the future.
