While he was traveling with his 65-year-old passenger on the L315 towards Geistthal, he skidded in a right-hand bend due to the slippery snow conditions and fell down a steep slope. When the car came to a stop on its roof, the driver was able to free himself from the accident vehicle, while his passenger was trapped and had to be rescued by the fire department.
Both occupants were taken to the Graz University Hospital with injuries of an unspecified degree the Styria Police Department reported. The L315 state road was closed in both directions in the area of the accident for around an hour, resulting in a local diversion. Initial investigations indicate that the snow and ice conditions played a significant role in this incident, which fortunately did not end in a more serious manner.
