The police were alerted when the man approached the officers threateningly and then retreated into his apartment. A dangerous incident occurred there: he spilled gasoline and set it on fire! Fortunately, emergency services were able to quickly extinguish the fire before it became a major disaster. Both the suspect and a police officer were slightly injured during the operation, but there was never any danger to bystanders.

Investigation and arrest warrant

The Sigmaringen Criminal Investigation Department has started an investigation against the man. He is suspected of attempted aggravated arson, attempted grievous bodily harm and assaulting police officers. After his stay in a specialist clinic, he was brought before a judge on Tuesday. At the request of the Hechingen public prosecutor, an arrest warrant was issued and the man is now behind bars!
