Trier police train for emergencies: life-saving exercise successful!

Last Saturday a dramatic large-scale exercise took place in Trier - a real scenario for police and rescue workers! Over 320 Trier police forces, supported by special units and the professional fire brigade, faced a simulated crisis situation on the premises of the military technical service. Here the cell phone was pulled out when the alarm sounded at 9 a.m. and the emergency services had to intervene without warning!
The exercise was meticulously planned: from the first alarm, to blocking the site, to negotiations with fictitious perpetrators and the treatment of injured people - everything had to be carried out extremely quickly and professionally. In the midst of chaos and the unexpected, the practitioners showed how important their collaboration is. “The operational tactics had to be precise without revealing many details,” emphasized Security Vice President Ralf Krämer. “But the interaction between the units worked better than ever!”
Deeper insights into deployment strategy
The exercise event also enabled high-ranking representatives of the Ministry of the Interior and neighboring police authorities to take an exclusive look at the processes and interaction between the emergency services. Together we tested how to react in tense situations and optimize help strategies. This way, emergencies can be managed even better!
The fire department took the opportunity to secure its own rescue techniques and strengthen cooperation with the police. With a clear goal in mind: to be armed against real dangers in the future and to save lives! Intensive preparation and evaluation of the results are crucial in order to be able to meet any real challenge.
