Truck accident in Weitra: Diesel expires-fire brigade in action!

A dramatic accident occurred in Wörnharts today when a tanker truck came off the street and tipped over. According to the first reports, the incident happened at 11:26 a.m., whereby the driver was luckily escaping from the cabin independently and then taken to the hospital. Diesel escaped from the tank in the accident, which led to a significant security incident, such as ORF reported .

The fire brigade and the police were quickly on hand. Six firefighters secured the scene of the accident, built fire protection and regulated the traffic. In order to combat the expired oil and the diesel, a special folding bag was used, while a 30 cm high earth wall was built in the ditch to prevent further expiry of equipment, such as

The rescue of the truck was a complex operation. A car crane made of Engelstein was requested to free the vehicle from the predicament using a winch. The road between Wörnharts and the Sandige Au intersection was closed to traffic throughout the salvage work. The police and red cross were also used from the environment, which optimized the cooperation in order to control the situation as quickly as possible.

Finally, the salvage was successfully completed at 2:15 p.m. and the emergency services restored the operational readiness. While the water protection authority monitored the incident, it was unclear whether further measures had to be taken due to the exit of pollutants. Preparations for fully cleaning up the accessories are now running to minimize the consequences of this threatening accident.
