Saving lives in Pinggau: Fire brigade practices spectacular roof rescue!

In the picturesque Murtal, more precisely in the Styrian municipality of Pinggau, an exciting and instructive winter training course for the fire departments of Section IV took place on March 7, 2025. This event, which was held at the Meisterfrost company, was all about practical exercises for rescuing people. How fireworld.at reported, an injured person was simulated on the roof of the company building as an exercise assumption. Thanks to the joint efforts of the Sinnersdorf, Schäffern, Pinggau and Baumgarten fire departments, the person was saved in an exemplary manner. High-ranking fire brigade representatives were also present, including the MRAS area representative OBI d.F. Markus Lang and section commander ABI Wolfgang Gamperl, who followed the exercise with great interest.

On the same day, the annual paramedic winter training course for Section IV was held on the premises of the Schäffern fire department. This training, in which six members of the fire department took part, was opened by ABI Wolfgang Gamperl. How ff-pinggau.at reported, the BIdS area health officer Manfred Trenker taught the participants important aspects relating to the topic of “respiratory protection emergencies”. The firefighter paramedics were divided into three groups and went through several stations in which they were able to train their skills. This included caring for a person who had fallen from a ladder, removing the helmet from a two-wheeler driver who had an accident, and simulating a respiratory protection emergency, supported by a Red Cross team from Friedberg. After an intensive two hours, the training ended with practical catering from the Schäffern fire department.
