Cat dies after fire in Fürth high-rise – firefighter injured!
On December 26, 2024, a smoldering fire occurred in a high-rise building in the Oberfürberg district of Fürth. The fire, which broke out on the twelfth floor of a vacant apartment, went unnoticed for a long time, resulting in heavy smoke. Reports from in Franconia and Northern Bavaria confirm that the fire brigade was able to intervene quickly and extinguish the fire quickly.
Unfortunately, one pet could not be saved: a cat died due to the thick smoke. A firefighter suffered smoke inhalation and required treatment but was not hospitalized. Overall, the residents of the house were uninjured, but were instructed to stay in their apartments and to keep windows and doors closed while the fire was extinguished.
Rescue workers on duty
A large contingent of rescue workers, including both professional and volunteer fire departments, were called to the scene. Numerous emergency services personnel were on site to stabilize the situation. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
