Fire brigade Leutschach: three missions at Christmas in series!
The Leutschach volunteer Fire brigade had their hands full during the Christmas holidays. "Law of the series" - that was the key term when the emergency services were alerted three times. The first dramatic use occurred on the night of December 23: a car had strayed from the B69 and landed upside down in a stack of wood. The driver was trapped, but thanks to the rapid use of a hydraulic rescue device, the firefighters were able to use operations head HBI Alexander Wratschko and BM d.v. Gregor Waltl saved the person and handed over to the emergency doctor. Another commitment followed on Christmas Eve when a fallen tree had to be removed on the Heiligengeist-Landesstraße. And while many Christmas fairs celebrated, the crew was again challenged: On December 25th, there was an elaborate hill under a bridge in Langegg, with luck the handlebar. It was particularly noteworthy that some fire brigade members were alerted in the middle of the Christmas mass and rushed immediately, as was reported on meinzirk.at.
The Straning fire brigade also did not come to rest. On June 27, she was alerted to a major fire in a workshop in Grafenberg. The fire brigade supported the local emergency services by securing the extinguishing water supply and provided breathing apparatus wearers. A total of 14 members with two vehicles were employed until the evening. But the challenges of the fire brigade were not over: the next day, around 1:30 p.m., a siren started again. A residential building in Straning was on fire. Fortunately, there were no people in the building. In order to quickly control the fire, 16 fire brigades were mobilized with over 200 emergency services and support from the red cross and the police. After intensive extinguishing work, some of which took place with respiratory protection and using a turntable ladder, "fire" could finally be given how details of ff-straning.webnode.at describe in detail.
