Family rescued after spectacular accident in Styria!
A tragic traffic accident claimed two lives in Styria on Saturday, while another family drama unfolded in the same state. At around 2 p.m., a 77-year-old man from the Leoben area lost control of his vehicle in a left-hand bend in St. Gallen (Liezen district). The car, in which his 75-year-old wife was also, crashed into a house wall, rolled over several times and stopped after about 70 meters. The fire brigade was deployed to the rescue, but the husband could only be flown by rescue helicopter to the UKH Linz, where he succumbed to his serious injuries. Tragically, the passenger died at the scene of the accident and the B117 was closed during the operation the Courier reported.
Meanwhile, another family nearby experienced a dramatic fate. That same morning, a 47-year-old woman found herself in a blind moment of microsleep while driving with her 20-year-old daughter and 49-year-old husband. Her car left the road and fell into the Miesenbach in Gschaid near Birkfeld (Weiz district). The family was able to free themselves from the wreckage before calling for help. Even before the rescue workers arrived, they managed to get to safety and were then taken to the LKH Weiz for medical care OE24 reported.
