An exciting year lies behind the Reith fire department in Kitzbühel, Tyrol, which celebrated its 118th annual general meeting on March 7, 2025. Commander Roland Krabichler looked back on a committed year in which the fire brigade was called to 57 missions. These deployments included 6 fire operations and 16 technical operations, while the crew also assisted with 9 fire safety stops. The low number of false alarms, with only four involuntary deployments, is a testament to the professionalism and commitment of the force fireworld.at reported.
The focus was also clearly on the training of fire brigade members. Various exercises were carried out at the local level, including a sectional respiratory protection exercise and joint training with water rescue. Six members successfully took part in the respiratory protection management test, which underlines the high level of training. In addition, the youth fire brigade under the leadership of Martin Hiebaum worked a total of 456 hours, including a knowledge test and a tree planting challenge. Sporting successes, such as participation in regional triathlons, could also be celebrated.
Honors for long-time members
During the meeting, not only were the successes acknowledged, but long-standing members were also honored. Markus Adelsberger was honored for 25 years of membership, and Johann Adelsberger for an impressive 50 years of membership. Mayor Stefan Jöchl also emphasized the appreciation of the brave firefighters, who praised the good cooperation between the fire department and other clubs. In 2024, the Reith fire department worked a total of 4,209 voluntary hours for the benefit of the population, with the five vehicles covering 9,100 kilometers without an accident.
