Drunk drivers cause several accidents in the Graz area!
On the afternoon of March 5, 2025, several dramatic traffic accidents occurred in Styria and Carinthia. The first incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. in Strallegg when a 38-year-old driver drove off the state road and hit a fence. Both the driver and his 43-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Weiz LKH. An alcohol test carried out revealed that the driver was clearly intoxicated. The fire department had to rescue the damaged vehicle ORF Styria reported.
At the same time there was another accident in Hohenau an der Raab. A 35-year-old driver also lost control of his vehicle, first colliding with a tree and then crashing into a stream embankment. He was also taken to the Weiz LKH with injuries and his breathalyzer test came back positive. In another incident around midnight in Graz, a drunk 48-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured when he ran into the driver's door of a bus and then fell onto the street.
