The end of an era: Last edition of IM ZENTRUM” tomorrow on ORF 2!

A major chapter in Austrian television will be closed on December 15, 2024, when the last episode of the political discussion group “IM ZENTRUM” will be broadcast on ORF 2. After 17 years and 654 broadcasts, Claudia Reiterer, who has been the face of the show since 2017, is ending. The last program entitled “Are we REALLY not allowed to say anything more? – Let’s talk about it” will be broadcast at 10:10 p.m. ORF General Director Roland Weißmann praised Reiterer for her “fearless” way of covering complex political issues week after week and described it as one of the biggest challenges in TV journalism.

A new wind at ORF

But there is already a successor in sight! From January 12, 2025, Susanne Schnabl will take over a newly designed talk show. The presenter expressed her excitement about her new challenge on She plans to give viewers the opportunity to question political decisions and social developments in more detail.

To mark the change, Tobias Pötzelsberger will act as backup for Schnabl, and the as yet unnamed format will come to television after the departure of “IM ZENTRUM”. Schnabl will be seen for the last time as the presenter of the previous program “Report” on December 17th before she takes over the management of the new discussion. Claudia Reiterer's future, meanwhile, remains uncertain after playing a central role in Austria's political reporting for almost eight years, as shown by viewership figures averaging 454,000 viewers.
