A serious traffic accident occurred on Monday evening, June 16, 2025, in Birkfeld in the Weiz district, in which a 32-year-old motorcycle driver from the region was fatally injured. The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. when the motorcyclist was traveling northwest on the municipal road in Waisenegg on his light motorcycle.
The motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle in a right-hand bend. His motorcycle slipped and skidded onto the road. As a result, the motorcycle crashed into a guardrail and was then thrown into a tree. In the impact, the driver sustained fatal injuries that required immediate medical attention.

The emergency doctor and the Birkfeld fire department were on duty and were called to support the recovery work. Despite the rapid response of the rescue services, the motorcyclist could only be rescued dead. According to the initial investigation, foul play was ruled out.
