War in Ukraine: Russian attacks again cause civilian casualties!

The latest developments in the war between Russia and Ukraine on November 12th.

On the 991st day of the conflict, the situation in Ukraine is becoming increasingly dramatic! In the city of Nikopol, in central Dnipropetrovsk, Russian artillery fire left two people dead and five others injured. Another horrific incident occurred in Kryvyi Rih, where a Russian missile attack on a residential building killed at least one woman and injured 14 civilians. Violence continues to escalate as Ukrainian forces face off against nearly 50,000 enemy troops in Russia's Kursk region. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine will significantly strengthen its positions on the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove fronts, where fighting is most intense.

Russian offensive and international reactions

Russian forces have captured the settlement of Kolisnykivka in the eastern Kharkiv region, the Russian Defense Ministry reports. At the same time, a Ukrainian drone strike sparked a fire in the southern Russian region of Belgorod, further inflaming tensions. Amid this fighting, the European Union has already delivered more than 980,000 missiles to Ukraine and plans to exceed the million mark by the end of the year, according to EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell.

North Korea and diplomatic tensions

In another twist, North Korea has ratified a defense treaty with Russia that provides for mutual assistance in the event of an attack. This could further destabilize the geopolitical situation. Meanwhile, the Kremlin has dismissed reports of an alleged conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin as “pure fiction”. France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot stressed that Ukraine's allies should not rush to judgment about how Trump will handle the war. Finland's Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen warned that forced Ukraine's neutrality could not bring a peaceful solution to the conflict with Russia.
