Drama at the Canary Islands: Once again dead when crossing the migrant!

In one of the most dramatic chapters of the European migration crisis, Spain is fighting with fateful challenges. In front of the Canary Islands, an otherwise so paradise -looking piece of earth, tragedy is taking place around tragedy. Several boats, overloaded with hope, tirelessly reach the small coasts of El Hierro. But for six of the migrants it was the last trip, they were only recovered dead. The Canary Islands, long ago at the limit of their possibilities, are about to collapse - economically, social, and political.

like world reported, the first boat reached the port of La Resttinga on a Tuesday evening, led by the heroic missions of the Salvamar Adhara. On board: 67 people full of hopes, dreams and fate stories from countries such as Mali, Egypt and Senegal. But for some this trip ended with death, a cruel testimony of the dangers lurking on the Atlantic route. The boats became falling symbols of a crisis that not only soaks the waters between Africa and Europe, but also questioned morality and humanity.

Spain in the state of emergency

with a terrifying increase in newcomers - until November there were already over 41,000 people - the Canary Islands set a sad record. The number of those who have lost their lives in their attempt to reach the mainland is unimaginably high. According to estimates by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and UNHCR, 700 people are said to have died at sea this year. The overcrowded accommodations and exhausted rescue workers are hard evidence that the region is no longer up to the oppressive loads. The smallest island, El Hierro, sees itself as a stage of a humanitarian drama that urgently demands political answers.

While Madrid and Brussels had hoped to find solutions, the conversations only ended in fruitless words. Even a meeting between the Spanish government and opposition leaders brought little. The Canarian President Fernando Clavijo summarized the urgency: "This is not about ideologies, but about human life." An appeal that touches the hearts of many, but is often lost in political disputes.

unresolved questions and spatial split

While the number of arrivals in the Canary Islands is increasing, the migration pressure not only focuses on this region. In Ceuta, the Spanish exclave in North Africa, the number of arrivals explodes. Many of the unaccompanied, mainly children and adolescents, face new challenges, while the country desperately tries to create order.

The lack of political will not only tightens the humanitarian crisis on the coasts, but also endangers the territorial cohesion all of Spain. The affected communities make it clear that they can no longer carry the load alone. Meanwhile, the sea continues to live with every new boat that dares to make the dangerous journey.

In the middle of this tragic reality, TIM Röhn on X.com to demand the essential support from international partners. This humanitarian challenge requires solidarity and willingness to act across all borders.

In summary, the question arises as to how long Spain can and will suffer from the burdens of this crisis before serious and sustainable solutions come on the table. While the sea keeps people in its cold arms, hope for a united answer remains the key to redemption.
