Border control sounds the alarm: man arrested with fake documents!
Shock at the border! On Thursday evening, a 30-year-old man from Guinea-Bissau wanted to enter Germany from Belgium in his car, but the federal police had him in their sights. Their temporary border controls on the federal highway 44 at the Königsberg rest area led to a dramatic discovery!
When the officers checked the man, he threw a fake Italian residence permit and an Italian ID card that was only valid nationally onto the table. But appearances were deceptive! After closer inspection, it turned out that the documents were completely forged and immediately ended up in the hands of the police. That's not all: the man was also suspected of not having paid a fine of 377 euros for misuse of his ID card. The result? A criminal arrest warrant from the Freiburg-Lörrach public prosecutor's office was involved!
Fate in the balance!
The situation came to a head when the man had the opportunity to pay the fine and thus escape the threat of 30 days in prison. Good luck in misfortune? But not for everyone! After the police interrogation, he was sent back to Belgium and held responsible for forgery of documents and unauthorized entry.
However, the federal police were not only confronted with one case that day. Further police operations uncovered two smuggling cases in which a total of seven people were picked up without the necessary identification documents. The situation became particularly difficult when a 37-year-old Moroccan, who was traveling to Aachen with an existing entry ban into Germany, was also arrested. He was also repatriated to Belgium.
