Telekom Boost: Better mobile phone supply in the ILM district by 2026!

A revolutionary improvement for the ILM circle! Deutsche Telekom has worked intensively on mobile phone supply in the past two months and built a new LTE location in Ilmenau. The episode? A much better network coverage and more bandwidth for everyone! Now the citizens surf even faster and more reliably, even in their own four walls. A real relief for all the commuters on the Thuringia-Ost railway line!

"The need for bandwidth is constantly increasing - around 30 percent per year. That is why we continue to pace in mobile phone expansion," explains Georg von Wagner, the company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom. With a total of 66 locations in the ILM district, Telekom already covers around 98 percent of households. But that's just the beginning! By 2026, the company plans to build an additional 31 locations and to expand 23 existing radio masts with LTE or 5G.

In order to make this expansion successfully, Telekom is dependent on the support of municipalities and property owners. If you can offer a suitable location for a roof or mast location, you will be asked to report to the German radio tower.

With over 36,000 mobile radio locations across Germany and around 1,500 new locations annually, Telekom confirms its claim to be a leader in the mobile phone infrastructure.
