Competition yellow hand: trainees against racism in the Wartburg district active!
Wartburgkreis, Deutschland - The “Yellow Hand” competition calls for trainees and vocational students to develop creative projects against racism and discrimination. In the current tender, which runs in the Wartburg district until January 15, 2025 and until January 16, 2025 in North Rhine-Westphalia, ideas are sought that promote solidarity and tolerance in the working environment. According to Ralf Eckardt from IG Bau, the goal is to "make a stop to extremely right and racist machinations everywhere". The best ideas are waiting for lucrative prize money: the most creative initiative is rewarded in the Wartburg district with 1,000 euros, while places receive two and three 700 and 500 euros. In North Rhine-Westphalia, a total of 3,300 euros in prize as part of the competition. The Trade Union Food Guest Gaststics (NGG) emphasizes that at a time when many refugees come from Ukraine to Germany, commitment to solidarity is particularly important. Karim Peters from the NGG emphasizes that the industries that represent their members are shaped by diversity and that respectful handling is essential. "From Instagram account for solidarity to the demo against right on the market square-all formats are welcome," says Peters.
The “Yellow Hand” competition is organized by the association “Do not do my buddy! - for equal treatment against racism” and has been around for 18 years. The festive award ceremony will take place in Magdeburg in March 2025. Participation in this competition not only offers the chance of cash prices, but also the opportunity to set a strong sign against intolerance and discrimination. Every project, regardless of whether it is a short film, a social media campaign or a demo-there are no limits to creativity.
