Bus travel in Eichsfeld is becoming more expensive: prices and timetables are changing!

Things will be expensive in Eichsfeld from the new year: EW Bus GmbH will increase the prices for bus journeys on January 1, 2025. This decision marks the first tariff increase since 2022, due to rising diesel prices and higher personnel and vehicle costs. A single ticket in price level 1 will then cost 1.80 euros, instead of the previous 1.60 euros. Particularly affected are the routes from Duderstadt to Heiligenstadt, where the fare increases from five to 5.20 euros, and to Leinefelde, where it goes from 4.60 to 4.80 euros. According to Marcel Gunkel, EW's line transport planner, season tickets that have already been purchased remain valid until the specified date, as stated by Göttingen Tageblatt reported.

Timetable changes and new stops

In addition to the price increases, the timetables will also be adjusted: From December 15, 2024, a general timetable change will come into force in Thuringia. Although the new timetable does not provide for any major changes, there are minor adjustments to arrival and departure times to ensure connections. The new timetables are now available on buses and in the city and municipal administrations of the Eichsfeld district. In addition, the Tastungen through town will be reopened from December 23rd, which means that bus lines 20, 21 and 25 can serve their stops regularly and the replacement stops will no longer apply Eichsfeldwerke report.
