Bus driving in the Eichsfeld is becoming more expensive: prices and timetables change!

In the Eichsfeld it will be expensive from the new year: EW Bus GmbH increases the prices for bus trips on January 1, 2025. This decision marks the first tariff surcharge since 2022 due to rising diesel prices and higher personnel and vehicle costs. A single ticket in price level 1 then costs 1.80 euros instead of 1.60 euros as before. The routes from Duderstadt to Heiligenstadt are particularly affected, where the fare increases from five to 5.20 euros, and to Leinefelde, where it goes from 4.60 to 4.80 euros. According to Marcel Gunkel, the EW's line traffic planner, the time cards already acquired remain valid until the specified date, as from Göttinger Tageblatt reported.

timetable changes and new stops

In addition to the price increases, adjustments to the timetables are also imminent: from December 15, 2024, a general timetable change will come into force in Thuringia. Although the new timetable does not provide for profound changes, there are minor adjustments to the arrival and departure times that should serve to ensure connections. The new timetables are now available on the buses and in the city and municipal administrations of the district of Eichsfeld. In addition, the passing through the town will be released again from December 23, which means that bus lines 20, 21 and 25 can regularly operate their stops and the replacement stops are omitted, as Eichsfeldwerke Report.
