Norman Müller: New State Secretary appointed for Thuringia!
In the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior, Local and National Development, there is a new star: Norman Müller was appointed State Secretary and head of the head on December 19, 2024. Prime Minister Mario Voigt had the honor to appoint the 47-year-old Altenburger in the State Chancellery. Interior Minister Georg Maier praised Müller as a "excellent choice" and emphasizes his extensive experience in the Thuringian state administration and in a federal authority. Müller has worked as head of the Thuringian Ministry of Finance in the past and brings valuable knowledge in the areas of digitization and administration.
Norman Müller, who was born in Altenburg on May 10, 1977 and was rooted there, studied law at the University of Leipzig and completed his legal training with two state exams. Before he took over his current position, he worked in various roles within the Thuringian administration, including the Federal Office for Economics and Export Control (BAFA) in Borna/Saxony, where he recently served as a government director. He is a member of the SPD and has already held various functions in his party, including that of the district chairman in Altenburger Land. Müller was pleased with his appointment: "I am grateful for the trust he has placed in me and look forward to tackling the upcoming challenges together with the employees."
Change in the Ministry
The change in the ministry also comes with the farewell of Udo Götze, who moves to the Ministry of Social Affairs after ten years as State Secretary. Interior Minister Maier thanked Götze for the long -term cooperation: "I could always count on you, rely on you. I am grateful for that." Norman Müller now follows Götze and takes on a key role in the Thuringian administration.
