The SRH, an important provider of educational and health services in Germany, has announced a comprehensive restructuring of its university area. From October 1, 2024, the company's five attendance universities will merge the new SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg. The SRH, as the third largest private university provider in the country, will offer a uniform platform with 18 study locations that enables students more flexibility in their educational path.

The decision to bring the universities together into an institution pursues the goal of using the experience of the SRH over a period of more than 50 years and at the same time increasing international competitiveness. The headquarters of the new university remains in Heidelberg, where the first SRH university was founded in 1969. The locations will continue to exist, with a gradual expansion, starting with Munich, where new offers should be made available from the summer semester 2025.

The CEO of the SRH Holding, Prof. Dr. Christof Hettich said that this merger is not just about creating a stronger presence in the education sector, but also about double the number of students. "We enable people everywhere and at any time to access to education.

A significant part of this new structure is the appointment of Dr. Thorsten Bagschik as managing director of SRH University and by Prof. Dr. Victoria Büsch to the rector. Both were previously responsible for the Berlin location, which is now housed in a state-of-the-art campus in Berlin-Neukölln. This will be officially opened on November 15, 2024.

The SRH has an innovative teaching and learning concept known as "Core" (Competence-Oriented Research and Education). This concept promotes learning in projects instead of traditional frontal lessons. The students work in small groups and benefit from individual support, which significantly improves their opportunities on the labor market.

Currently, more than 20,000 students from over 140 countries are enrolled at the SRH universities. The offer includes bachelor and master programs as well as promotions and training in German and English. The quality of the training is underlined by the seal of approval "Education Made in Germany", which in particular benefits international students.

The SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg complements the existing educational portfolio of the SRH, which also includes the SRH Fernhochschule - The Mobile University and the EBS University of Economics and Law.
