Security checks in Rüsselsheim: Illegal gambling uncovered!
Raid in Rüsselsheim and Raunheim! On Tuesday evening (November 5th) and in the early hours of Wednesday morning, police forces carried out extensive checks as part of the “Safe City Center” emergency program. In a shocking result, 41 restaurants were examined - and only nine remained without complaints! Officers checked 276 people in 20 restaurants, five bars, five kiosks, eight betting agencies and three arcades.
Particularly explosive: In a café in Raunheim, the emergency services came across two illegal slot machines and two poker tables that were hidden in the basement. The officials closed the illegally operated restaurant and confiscated the cash from the slot machines. An investigation has been initiated! But that wasn't all - during a further check in Rüsselsheim, a 37-year-old was found to have a live firearm, which led to his temporary arrest.
Shocking Finds and Violations!
The raid also uncovered banned knives from two men, 34 and 32 years old. Violations of gaming regulations were found in eleven of the establishments inspected, and the tax office discovered improper cash registers in 21 establishments. A total of 11 cans of tobacco, 156 illicit e-cigarettes and untaxed shisha tobacco were seized, which led to further legal action. A location had to be closed due to hygienic deficiencies. An urgent appeal to all operators: The days of unregulated gambling operations are over!
