Traffic chaos in Bad Oldesloe: B75 closure extended until October 11th!

Traffic in Bad Oldesloe has been under considerable pressure since the beginning of September. Every day, the city's commuters and residents are stuck in traffic jams, which has now become a common sight. Those affected had originally hoped that the full closure of the B75 in the direction of Reinfeld could be lifted on October 4th. But this hope was dashed when the State Office for Road Construction and Transport Schleswig-Holstein (LBV.SH) confirmed the extension of the closure.

Last but not least, LBV.SH had previously stated that the closing date could be met. The contradictions between the announcements and the real situation raise questions. It has now become known that the work on the road subsidence is more complex than initially expected.

Delay explanation

The LBV.SH explained that unexpected additional expenses for eliminating the road sagging between the railway bridge and the Kneeden area were responsible for the delay. For this reason, the lockdown will not be lifted as planned. Instead, it should only be extended until Friday, October 11th.

After October 11th it is planned that only one side of the B75 will remain closed. Traffic will then be guided past the construction site at a speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour. Although this means some relief for the traffic situation, the obstructions will still remain.

In addition, the subsequent marking work will also be carried out under partial closure. The speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour also applies here, which means that the local traffic situation will continue to be tense.

The constant challenge that arises from this construction work shows how important clear communication and transparent information from those responsible are. While the work is necessary to fix the road problems, many of those affected would like the traffic problem to be solved more quickly. For a detailed look at the case, see the report on www.shz.de.
