The shock call terror strikes in Flensburg and the surrounding area! Since Tuesday afternoon, October 22, 2024, fake police officers and supposed relatives have made over fifty perfidious calls to the population. The scammers pretend that a family member is involved in a serious traffic accident and that a large deposit must be paid immediately to avoid imprisonment. The conversation is then skillfully handed over to an alleged prosecutor who applies additional pressure.
In three cases, the unscrupulous crooks managed to steal large sums of cash, which were picked up from the victims' homes by people who announced the pickup over the telephone. The damage caused now amounts to over 50,000 euros - a shocking result! The police urge all citizens to be vigilant and offer the following vital tips:
