Wood truck on A7: Police discovered shocking overload!

On Tuesday, January 8, 2025, the police checked a wooden transporter on the A7 motorway near Oggenhausen towards Ulm. The control, which took place at 3 p.m., was aimed at a team that was loaded with tree trunks. Already with a rough calculation of the loading volume, the suspicion arose that the truck was overloaded.

A subsequent weighing resulted in an actual weight of 50 tons. The vehicle was over 10 tons and more than 25 % overloaded. The 42-year-old driver must now expect a complaint that is associated with a fine of at least 285 euros and one point in Flensburg.

Details for control

The control was carried out by officials from the Ulm police headquarters. The affected vehicle was a Volvo truck with a trailer, which obviously did not maintain the permissible charging limits. Contact details for press inquiries are available: Thomas Hagel, Police Headquarters Ulm, Tel. 0731/188-1111.

These incidents illustrate the importance of traffic controls to ensure traffic safety, especially in the area of goods transport. The police call for a strict compliance with the regulations to avoid dangerous overcharges.
