Kiel, Deutschland - alarm level red in Schleswig-Holstein bus traffic! The ver.di union called up the bus drivers in the private sector to settle the work on Wednesday, November 20. This affects not only Kiel, but also the districts of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, Schleswig-Flensburg, Dithmarschen and Nordfriesland. The buses are expected to stay in their custody accounts, and passengers have to adapt to massive restrictions!

The rage of the bus drivers is big! Ver.di negotiator Sascha Bähring explains that the strikes stand for fair wages and the future of local transport. "If the development of income does not go on, we lose more and more people who are active in this profession," warns Bähring. The union is ready to end the strike quickly, but employers, represented by the Omnibusverband Nord (OVN), must finally be ready for new discussions. "The OVN still has to negotiate with us in hand, otherwise it will be a difficult Advent and Christmas season in the country," threatens Bähring.

Klaus Schmidt, the chairman of the OVN, is horrified by this “irresponsible” attitude. The union justifies its absence with a lack of a written offer from the employer.
