Dragons, love and power: Chemnitz conquers in the Nibelung Valley!

A new film is coming to the cinema and promises an exciting story based on the legendary Nibelungen saga. The title is “Hagen – In the Valley of the Nibelungen” and brings the time-honored drama to the big screen. The premiere took place on October 17, 2024 and is presented at CineStar - the film palace at the Red Tower in Chemnitz, located at Neumarkt 2.

The plot of the film revolves around Hagen von Tronje, who is a master of arms in the Burgundian kingdom under the rule of the young King Gunter. But the idyll is deceptive, as the empire faces both internal and external threats. When the famous dragon slayer Siegfried travels to Worms, Gunter asks him for help in taking the powerful Valkyrie Brunhild as his wife and thereby consolidating his authority. The situation is particularly complicated by the love interest of the king's daughter Kriemhild, as she is also in love with Siegfried - a turn of events that Hagen, who is in love with Kriemhild, is anything but pleased with.
