Shock after a shooting spree: perpetrator's will discovered at Christmas market!
On December 20, 2024, there was a devastating attack at the Christmas market in Magdeburg. A 50-year-old doctor, Taleb A., drove a rental BMW into a crowd, killing five people. Around 200 other people were injured, some seriously. Investigations show that Taleb A. may have expected his own death, as a will was found in the vehicle in which he bequeathed his assets to the German Red Cross. However, it did not contain any political messages, reported Mercury.
Preparations and radicalization
The alleged perpetrator had already rented the car on December 11th, almost a week before the crime. Back in May, Taleb A. said on social platforms that he wanted to die this year. He was also contacted by the police in October because of his dangerousness after it was determined that he was a potential suspect. This was confirmed by the Interior Minister of Saxony-Anhalt. Despite previous threats against authorities, he had not been identified as a threat up to this point, according to the report 20 minutes emerges.
After the attack, AfD supporters demonstrated on Cathedral Square on December 23rd under the motto “Grief united – for a secure future.” The leader of the AfD, Alice Weidel, called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident and accused the authorities of not taking the dangers seriously enough. She emphasized the urgency of change and expressed her sadness at the tragedy that has struck many families. Taleb A. is currently being held in custody after his radicalization has increased in recent years.
