Digital turn: Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis and Frankenthal bundle forces!

In a courageous step to counter the growing challenge of personnel capacities and the digitization of the administration, the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis and the city of Frankenthal set the course for closer cooperation! Especially in the area of vehicle approval, the two partners see shiny opportunities to reduce costs, to relieve the employees and to offer the citizens a first -class service. But what the cooperation will look like remains in the dark for the time being. When it starts and how it should be implemented in terms of personnel and technically is still unclear.

The urgency of these measures is underlined by massive problems in the registration points in the Rhein-Palatinate district. Citizens report on an appointment of unbearable waiting times! The branch offices in Dudenhofen and Heßheim were even completely closed at times. In order to fix these grievances, the district committee has now decided to move the registration office to the former Sparkassen branch in Schifferstadt Bahnhofstrasse. A long -awaited step that is still waiting for the country's okay.

inter -municipal cooperation in the focus

The idea of inter -municipal cooperation is not new! Frankenthal and the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis were already part of a model project in cooperation with Speyer and Ludwigshafen. But the hurdles remain high! Due to different specialist procedures and progress in digitization, not all fields of action can currently be mastered together. This knowledge comes from District Administrator Clemens Körner (CDU) and the Frankenthal Mayor Nicolas Meyer (FWG), which in their joint explanation emphasize that there are already successful cooperation in certain areas, such as the adoption transfer. Further projects are already being planned!
