Rainbow Parade 2025: JOYN broadcasts the LGBTQ+ festival live!
Vienna is preparing for a colorful spectacle as the 29th Vienna Rainbow Parade will take place on June 14, 2025. This event, which marks the culmination of Pride Month in the city, attracts hundreds of thousands of people each year. As a “Proud Pride Partner”, JOYN will stream the entire parade live and also broadcast it on TV on PULS 24. The one-hour broadcast begins at 12 p.m. and lasts five hours, with reporters conducting interviews on site and capturing the atmosphere. Julia Furdea and Jakob Glanzner will moderate the event in the studio.
Pride Month in Vienna has been celebrated since June 1st and lasts until June 18th. During this time, numerous events take place that focus on diversity and the LGBTQI+ community. In addition to the rainbow parade, there are also numerous preliminary events that spread the spirit of diversity. A special attraction is the exhibition “re_ass_ess me!”, which shows photographs by Inés Bacher, Carolina Frank and Marija Šabanović and can be seen in the “Wirr” restaurant until June 22nd.

Insight into Pride Month events
The history of Pride Month goes back to Christopher Street Day (CSD), which commemorates the 1969 uprising by homosexuals and queer minorities. Numerous events are planned in Vienna this year. These include, among others, the “Vienna Pride Beach Day” on the Danube Island and the “Que(e)r durch die Literatur” in the Literature Museum. A highlight will be the “Miss*ter Vienna Pride election” in the Volkstheater, where the scene’s most creative talents will be celebrated.
Given the importance of diversity and acceptance in society, the organizers of the Rainbow Parade are sending a strong message. HOSI Vienna, which is responsible for the event, started this tradition in 1996. Today, the parade remains a platform for visibility and empowerment of the LGBTQI+ community.
With the live broadcast of the parade via JOYN and the TV channel PULS 24, the spectacle will not only be seen locally, but also in Germany and Switzerland. In addition to the parade, JOYN will provide other diversity and LGBTQ+ content, including popular films such as “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Pride Month is therefore not only a time of celebration, but also of commitment to the rights and acceptance of the LGBTQI+ community in society.
For those unable to attend the parade in person, snapshots and real-time reporting on JOYN and PULS 24 will bring the celebrations into living rooms. Vienna shows once again that it is a city that values and celebrates diversity.
