Frenzied drug addicts: Police arrest him despite escaping!
A 19-year-old driver caused a stir when he went on a wild chase with the police. After speeding across the border into Germany, the risk became too great for the emergency services and the pursuit in the Schardenberg area was called off. Police later identified the young man using his license plate number at his home address, where they discovered him and his high-powered vehicle. An official medical examination confirmed the suspicion of drug impairment, which led to the temporary suspension of his driving license. As a result, several advertisements await him, such as the Kleine Zeitung reported.
But there were also similar incidents in Linz: On February 6, 2025, a police patrol observed a 26-year-old driver who had given way to an officer. During the check it turned out that the man was not only driving without a valid driver's license, but was also staying in Austria illegally. The traffic offender, identified as a Syrian, only had a Greek convention passport and a Greek asylum card. He was arrested and taken to the Linz police detention center for a fitness-to-carry examination before he was transferred to the immigration police in Wels for further inquiries regarding immigration law Linz News reported.
