Robbery attack in Stralsund: Child threatened in shopping street!

Stralsund. A shocking incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the busy old town! A twelve -year -old boy was brutally attacked in Ossenreyerstrasse, the popular shopping mile. Three unknown teenagers pushed him into a dark corner and held a knife to force him to publish his wallet. The police refer to this as predatory extortion.

The perpetrators were able to escape prey with less than 100 euros after the victim handed over a wallet with a small double-digit cash amount. The escape of the three suspects was undetected. The main perpetrator who led the knife was described as about 17 years old, wore white jogging pants, a black hoodie and worn sneakers. His accomplices seemed to be between 16 and 18 years old and also had a hoodie.

Ossenreyerstraße: A hotspot for youth crime

Ossenreyerstrasse seems to be a recurring goal for attacks. This area was criticized several times last year because young people were held responsible for vandalism and threats. Residents had already raised the alarm in April 2023 and demanded that the security measures tighten. The topic of security in public space is also hotly debated in the Stralsund citizens. CDU MP Ann-Christin von Allwörden has called for a comprehensive examination for the possible introduction of video surveillance. According to a survey, more than half of the participants feel safer through additional security cameras.
